Prompt:

This week on #FaeFriday, we’re talking about iron! Iron is known to ward off faeries and, in some instances, limit the Fae’s powers. So this week’s prompt is:

What is something that sucks the magic out of a book?

Answer:
Oooh. I seriously had to think on this one. There are so many things that can suck the magic out of a book.
But for me personally? Random point of view change.
I don't usually like reading books with multiple pov's but if the book starts out that way it doesn't really bother me. But when it randomly changes either in the middle of a book, or worse, a series?
Ruins the whole thing for me. I got attached to that main character, I want to read from them. It is even worse when it's an insignificant character too. Like, not the love interest just some character we haven't really seen much of and then we randomly get their pov. 🙄
Drains the magic right out of it for me.

  1. I know what you mean, I had one book I read last year that had a consistent POV change between the two main characters and then out of left field, we got another POV change from some random character. It definitely annoyed me.
