REVIEW: Kiss And Break Up By Ella Fields

Synopsis:

Dashiell Thane wasn’t a nice guy.
He was an abrasive, demanding, conniving, intolerable brat.
Yet somehow, we’d been best friends our whole lives.
Until our senior year when I finally decided to dip my toes into the dating pool.

All it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths.

You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend.
You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else.
And the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend.
Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.

Review:

So Ella Fields is a new to me author, but this will 100% not be my last read of hers.

I'm sitting here writing this review chugging coffee and sleep deprived (which is pretty normal for me) because I was up all night until the wee morning hours reading this book. I could not freaking put it down! The only time I did was for some necessary caffeine and food to keep going.

"Love, I'd discovered, was something that multiplied. With every kiss and every touch, it continued to change and shape as we continued to fall."

I absolutely love these types of books, best friends to lovers, angsty as all hell, and Drama! And man this one has it all. It is so good! And hilarious at times! Had me laughing out loud in the middle of the night.

First of all let me just mention how much I freaking loved Peggy. She's quirky and sassy, strong even when she doesn't feel like she is. There is one scene in particular in this book that shows just how strong she is and really ends up defining her and Dash's relationship in the future. And man it's one of my favorite scenes. Usually the Heroine is quick to forgive and I'm so happy that in this instance it didn't happen like that. It was much needed to the story. I so wanna gush all about it, but I won't because I hate spoilers too, so just read it yourself to find out what I'm talking about. 😉

And, Dash! I really needed a Dash in my life in high school. Would have really spiced up my life back then. I'm a sucker for a hot, cocky, conceited, Alpha A hole. And man is Dash all of that and more. I absolutely loved him. And one thing that surprised me was how much I liked his pushyness. No matter what happened, he was always there pushing to be there for her, to love her. Ugh! It was just so good!

"If love doesn't terrify you, you're not in love. And if you're not in love, then what are you, Peggy?"

I know this review sounds more like gushing, because I totally am! Like seriously if you love the teenage angsty books as much as I do for sure don't miss out on this one. Ella has a way with words and writing teenage angsty goodness.

Ella Fields hit it out of the park with this one. So addicting, you won't want to stop reading.

I can't wait to hopefully see more from all of these characters.

"Falling in love with you has been the hardest, most exhausting, exhilarating, and wondrous thing to ever happen to me." Her finger trailed over the bridge of my nose. "Because you made sure you happened to me, Dash. And i'm so damn glad you did."
