ARC REVIEW: The Risk By Elle Kennedy

          

                                          

 SYNOPSIS:

Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right—I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team. 

And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel—I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.

I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend. 

For every fake date…he wants a real one.

Which means this bad girl is in big trouble. Nothing good can come from sneaking around with Jake Connelly. My father would kill me, my friends will revolt, and my post-college career is on the line. But while it’s getting harder and harder to resist Jake’s oozing sex appeal and cocky grin, I refuse to fall for him.

That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.

 

 REVIEW:

I'm a pretty big fan of this series. It's so much fun. I always look forward to each new release. 

“Want to make out some more before we go?” Jake’s tone is boyishly hopeful. “Nope.” His gaze turns devilish. “How about a blowjob?” “Aw, I appreciate the offer, but I don’t have a penis.” 

In The Risk we get Brenna and Jakes story. I've loved Brenna since getting to meet her in Summer and Fitzy's book "The Chase".  I'm glad she got her own book, she's such a fun and sassy heroine. I'll always love a sarcastic female lead. And of course we can't leave out jakey! I loved these two together.

After the disaster of an ex that Brenna had, and the things she had to deal with, she definitely deserved to be with someone way more caring. I loved those sweet moments between Brenna and Jake in this one.  

While this book is a really fun, steamy New Adult romance it delves a lot deeper than surface level. I don't want to go into details because, Spoilers! But just know it definitely keeps it interesting and you won't want to put it down. 

 This series is seriously one of my favorites. While this one in particular isn't my favorite out of all of them, it was a very fun and enjoyable read for me. Elle Kennedy has a way of drawing you into her stories. It is such a fun, sexy, easy read.  

You know sometimes you just need those feel good books? The ones where you can escape from reality to just enjoy someone else's world for a little while and laugh and have fun? That was The Risk for me. Such a feel good book, and it had me laughing out loud  several times. 

If you've read the other books in the Off-Campus series and Summers book "The Chase" then you are for sure going to want to pick this one up!

I'm dying to know who the next book "The Play"  is about! As of right now she's keeping it hush hush, and it's driving me crazy but i'm excited for it!
