Vaughn Spencer.
They call him an angry god.
To me, he is nothing but a heartless prince.
His parents rule this town, its police, every citizen and boutique on Main Street.
All I own is a nice, juicy grudge against him for that time he almost killed me.
Between hooking up with a different girl every weekend, breaking hearts, noses and rules, Vaughn also finds the time to bully little ole’ me.
I fight back, tooth and nail, never expecting him to chase me across the ocean after we graduate high school.
But here he is, living with me in a dark, looming castle on the outskirts of London.
A fellow intern. A prodigal sculptor. A bloody genius.
They say this place is haunted, and it is.
Carlisle Castle hides two of our most awful secrets.
Vaughn thinks he can kill the ghosts of his past, but what he doesn’t know? It’s my heart he’s slaying.
REVIEW:
Okay, I'm going to be honest, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Angry God. I have loved all of the previous book in this series, but I was seeing mixed reviews for this one.
Boy, was I wrong to be apprehensive about this book. With each new book in the series I liked the next one more than the last, and holy shit did I love this book. And Vaughn. Oh my god. 😭
Before this book Knight was my favorite. His book ruined me, but Vaughns book brought me back from the dead.
Vaughn is damaged. He's cruel. He's angry. He lashes out at other people, but damn when that boy let himself be soft for Lenora, it's beautiful.
Angry God is nothing like I was expecting, and yet everything I didn't know I needed it to be. This is the most perfect ending to this series. I am so sad to see it end, but so happy with the way that it did end.
Lenora surprised me. She's soft in the beginning, but there is a spitfire under the surface and the older she gets the more she lets it show. I loved her. And her and Vaughn together are just perfect.
The character development as these two grow throughout the book is one of my favorite parts.
L. J. was right, this one is darker than the previous books, but with Vaughn there was no escaping that.
And I HAVE to mention, Baron and Emilia as parents, AH!
Shit. That was fucking great to read. Vicious as a dad is hot as hell!!
I usually include some quotes in my reviews, and I highlighted a lot in this book, but I feel like going into this book blind is the best kind of reading experience for Angry God.
If you enjoyed the other books before Vaughns and you're apprehensive about Angry God like I was, Don't be! This book is so much more that what you see on the surface.
