How many books on average do you read a month?
This year it's been about seven or eight a month. When there's not a pandemic going on and I'm busy, it's usually four.
How many books are on your TBR?
Um, I've lost count honestly. 😂 If we're talking on Goodreads it's 1, 379 😬 And I have over 500, I say this because that's the number I stopped counting at, physical books and I haven't read a lot of them. Then there's my kindle. Yeah. It's just a lot. 😂
How are your books organized on your shelves?
Other than series and authors being together I organize by hight. I know it's weird, but when they are all a different hight it drives me crazy.
Which genres do you read the most from?
If this were last year I would say contemporary romance, but this year I've really been enjoying and getting back into Fantasy and Paranormal. All still under the romance umbrella, though. I love romance in my books.
Which genres do you own the most of?
Probably YA fantasy. It's mostly what I read and collected before I stopped buying every book in physical copy. I only purchase my favorites in hard copy now. Other than my Owlcrate that I get each month.
What is your preferred form of reading (physical books, Ebooks, etc?)
I think I kind of answered this with the last question a little bit, but I prefer ebooks now. For one its easier on my eyes and doesn't trigger my chronic migraines as much because I can adjust the font size, brightness, etc. But also because it's just more convenient and I can read an ebook way faster than I can a physical book now. 🤷🏻♀️
Who is your most owned author?
Most likely Cassandra Clare. I love collecting all of her special, and foreign editions. But I think Colleen Hoover is at a very close second.
Describe your favorite writing style.
I prefer first person narrative. I just connect better with the characters and the story that way. I like when books give you just the right amount of information without going overboard. Too much description makes me lose interest. Also too much inner monologue without the characters interacting also makes me lose interest.
What literary devices do you like/dislike?
I love when the story has a lot of angst and tension to keep you glued to the pages needing to know what happens. I can't stand the miscommunication thing that seems to be so popular. Like, the whole story and things are happening just because the characters won't talk to each other. Drives me nuts, and just makes me frustrated.
Which character archetypes do you enjoy?
I love strong, yet flawed charcaters. And I love it when they are sarcastic, have attitude, and a dark or just funny sense of humor.
I like characters that I can relate to. Not perfect. Real.
Which are your favorite book settings?
All of it. But seriously, I love Urban Fantasy, I also like when they are set in our world, but also in a fictional one. Kind of half and half. Also, Scotland is on my bucket list, so anything set there is a major plus for me.
What are your favorite romantic and plot tropes?
Oh, man. Romance wise, Friends to lovers is my ultimate favorite. Especially if it spans through while they are growing up together, thats my catnip lol. I also love, enemies to lovers, forbidden, brothers best friend, best friends brother, I mean you name it and I probably love it, haha.
