✨ ARC review - Why are you here by Brianna Jean ✨
A perfectly timed smoke break.
A chance encounter.
From the moment I laid eyes on Judah Colt, I knew I was screwed.
He was a whirlwind of emotions, a disastrous tornado of need, while I was only searching for a taste of reckless abandon and a chance to let go.
What I got was almost more than I could handle.
In the blink of an eye, I was no longer just a fan, a girl with an obsession, but instead I became a necessity—to the music, to the fans, to Judah himself.
Together, we were a chaotic mess of feelings, fears, and attitudes, but apart it all got worse.
Neither of us were ready for love—especially not the kind we found—but once we started...there was no going back.
We are Phoenix and Judah.
Nix and Jude.
Baby Bird and her Skyscraper.
Me and my twin flame.
OFFICIAL TRIGGER WARNING: This is a work of fiction with mature themes such as emotional trauma, drug use, strong language, infidelity, and suicide references. It is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.
This book was a roller coaster of emotions. It does deals with some heavy topics, so be aware of that before going into it.
I loved these characters and this story. If you are looking for a book that is going to bring out all your feels, this is it.
WAYH starts with Phoenix moving back to California from New York after college. She’s trying to find herself and her happiness after a lot of years of just not caring. She moves back and moves in with her best friend Frankie, and it’s not too long after her move back that she meets Judah.
"She felt like the type of madness that deserved to be protected."
And holy shit, the connection between these two is insane! I’ve never read a book where the characters were twin flames. Judah and Phoenix have a crazy connection. They are toxic at times, but the way these two are connected can’t be beat by anything else. You could feel it, even from the moment they first set eyes on each other. They were instantly drawn together, even though neither one of them really understood it, they felt like they knew each other.
This book, like I said before, is one hell of a roller coaster of emotions. Both Judah and Phoenix are so broken. It is a rocky as hell journey, and one that will have you feeling everything along with them.
Judah and Phoenix’s story grips you from the beginning and doesn’t let go. I found myself so captivated by their story. It’s a bumpy road, but you just can’t look away. Absolutely loved Brianna Jean’s writing. I cannot wait for more.
