Lucas Fuller is a lot of things.
He’s the boy next door.
He’s the first crush I ever had.
He was my first kiss.
He’s also the only person who has ever broken my heart.
For two years, I’ve wondered what happened to the us I used to know.
We were best friends, and then suddenly…we weren’t.
I tried to run away from it. I even changed schools just to make the hurt disappear.
But no matter how hard I tried to not think about Lucas, I just couldn’t stay away from the high school quarterback with perfect blue eyes and so many secrets.
I’m back. We’re seniors now. We’ve grown—all of us. And Lucas Fuller might be different, but I’m different too. This is my time to take risks, to experience life and to fall in love for real.
I want Lucas Fuller to be a part of my story, but I know for that to happen, I need to know the truth about our past.

Review:
Okay, I love Ginger Scott's books but this one really surprised me. I loved it so much. I miss reading books like this. Varsity Heartbreaker was just so much fun to read.
I loved the characters and the story, the teenage angst. Ugh, and I am definitely a sucker for every trope that is in this book.
I couldn't put it down. I loved these two. The angst between Lucas and June is on point. Loved Lucas, and June is amazing. I also really enjoyed that even though this is their book, it wasn't just centered around these two. I really like all of the friendships, and Junes relationship with her mom. Her mom is most definitely a badass.
There is most definitely angst and some drama going on, but it was just so much fun to read. That's something I wasnt really expecting. It was a really easy read to get lost in. I loved getting to disappear into this book. I know it's not planned but I would not say no to more Lucas and June. I could read a whole series about these two!
There's just something about the way Ginger writes her characters and her stories, it just sucks you right into the story. I loved Varsity Heartbreaker. It's the perfect romance to read right now, while we are so close to summer.
I'm excited for the future books in this series.
